Instead of asking only, “Why did I say that?” discipleship invites us to ask, “What does the fact that I said that reveal about what is happening within me?” Our words become mirrors reflecting what is happening within our hearts.
Proverbs uses agricultural language to describe the consequences of speech: fruit, yield, and harvest. Words may seem small when they leave our mouths, but small things can take root.
